He discusses that, as well as his delayed transition from the world of junior college to California, where he's been thrown into the mix as a potential replacement for the departed Darius White at the cornerback position opposite Darius Allensworth.

On the topic of White, Franklin said he's not only watched a lot of film, but he's spoken with the Indianapolis Colts corner.

"He gave me some pointers," Franklin said. "Watching film on Darius, I've seen his highlight tape, and I know he was a pretty aggressive corner, and he did some great things at Cal. I'm really just taking a lot from everybody, being a sponge out here and applying everything that I can to be the best product I can be."
