BTTV: Chase Garbers Torches El Toro

COSTA MESA, Calif. -- Cal commit Chase Garbers threw for four touchdowns and 334 yards against El Toro, and ran for two more, plus, he'll be making his presence felt at Cal very soon. MESA, Calif. -- After a season-opening 42-20 loss to Palos Verdes, and a 31-10 win over Los Gatos, Newport Beach (Calif.) Corona Del Mar returned home on Friday, and California commit Chase Garbers led the charge.

After rocking Have You Ever Seen the Rain before the game in the locker room, the Sea Kings QB -- who had thrown for two touchdowns and 440 yards in the previous two games combined -- made it pour on El Toro, going 18-for-24 for 334 yards and four touchdowns, while rushing six times for two first downs, 29 yards and two more touchdowns in a 42-13 rout.

The post game musical accompaniment was Hooked on a Feeling, and Garbe rs was certainly hooked on Tae Le, finding him nine times for 231 yards and three touchdowns.

Garbers will try to make it to San Diego for the Bears' Saturday tilt against San Diego State, and will make an unofficial up to Berkeley next week to help close some big time official visitors. Top Stories
