VIDEO: Cal baseball's two-way star Tanner Dodson spoils Mark Marquess's final game against Cal

BERKELEY -- Cal righty Tanner Dodson struck out 7 Stanford hitters and went 3-for-4 at the plate, while Tyrus Greene threw out 2 Cardinal runners and Erik Martinez provided 4.0 innings of much-needed relief on Monday.

BERKELEY -- California sophomore Tanner Dodson struck out 7 Stanford hitters and led the Bears with a 3-for-4 day at the plate in Monday's 5-3 win over the Cardinal, spoiling the final bow at Evans Diamond for 41-year Stanford skipper Mark Marquess. He got stellar defense behind him from left fielder Jonah Davis and first baseman Andrew Vaughn, and a gritty effort behind the plate from sophomore catcher Tyrus Greene.

The Bears also got a gutsy relief outing from closer Erik Martinez, who turned in his second 4.0-plus inning outing of the season, allowing 3 hits and 3 walks but striking out 2 and allowing no runs to earn his fourth win of the season.
