Next up for the Bears are the Princeton Tigers which should make for an interesting match-up due to the contrasting styles. The Bears should hold the advantage in this season opening match-up due to superior talent and backcourt experience. Following the match-up with Princeton the Bears will (hopefully) face the winner of the Eastern Washington-#10 St. Joseph's matchup in what would the championship game of the BCA Classic.
That Versatility Card Rears its Head
In a smothering defensive display the Cal men's basketball team chalked up its second exhibition win by overcoming a rugged start and evetually overwhelming an undermanned EA Sports team with tenacious defense and a "spread the wealth" offensive display. And while the 97-67 final tally doesn't seem to indicate many struggles, there were a few times where the Cal juggernaut seemed to stagnate and even slow down. However those lapses were brief and this year's version seems poised to display itself as a multi-faceted club wheras in years past the men's team has been perhaps unfairly labeled by its critics as one dimensionsal.
