Bears Stonewall Eastern Washington

Sometimes you just don't have it. Things don't click and the flow and feel are missing. In California's 56-27 win over Eastern Washington Eagles in the championship game of the Black Coaches Association (BCA) Classic it was apparent that neither team could maintain an extended period of offensive continuity. So, how did Cal emerge victorious with a margin of 29 points? The Bears utilized superior defense to limit the Eagles to just 23% shooting and force 20 turnovers. Jamal Sampson continued his outstanding play by contributing 10 points 14 rebounds 4 blocks and 2 steals in the final on the way to collecting tournament MVP honors. Joe Shipp joined Sampson as the other Cal member selected to the all-tournament team. Top Stories
