A pure point, with a great feel for the game, Lawrence looks to set up teammates before he gets his own shot. He's got good quickness, a strong body and great leadership qualities. His outside shot is adequate at this point and he's a very good defender.
We spoke with Lawrence recently and asked him which schools have been showing the most interest in him so far.
Lawrence said he favored two schools when he was growing up. "I liked UCLA and North Carolina," said Lawrence.
Lawrence has given some thought already to the issues he'll consider when choosing a school.
"Playing time won't be a big deal," said Lawrence. "I'd like to play, of course, but I'd be looking for time more in my sophomore year. My freshman year I'd just like to learn the system."
Lawrence went on to say, "The big thing will be the players and coaches at the school -- how I like them. And the academics, of course. Location won't matter -- I'll go anywhere."
We asked if he had given any thought as to a timetable for choosing a school and Lawrence replied, "Probably after next summer."
Lawrence told us he has a 2.6 GPA and he plans on taking the SAT later this summer."
