Geoff, what stands out for you about your first Big Game?
It was awesome. You know, we didn't get a lot of fan support back then, but that was the one game that this stadium was packed. I remember playing against some pretty good (Stanford) guys - that was when Willingham was there and they had a shot at the Rose Bowl - they had a good team - and I remember the whole atmosphere in this stadium as being electric.
Was the atmosphere a surprise given the lack of fan support during the season?
Well, back then they always said around here, "You can lose every game - but if you win the Big Game we'll all love you guys".
Maybe that was the old Cal talking?
Yes - definitely - that's the OLD Cal.
Have you changed and grown as you've gone through your years at Cal?
I definitely feel I have grown a lot here - four years here is like an eternity. In those four years you can go through so much about life. I've learned so much in this small amount of time -

And now? Facing this Saturday?
The thing is, (Stanford doesn't) have anything to lose, and we have everything to lose. So it's really important for us to come out and really play our game ... not to panic or anything like that ... but just go out and start fast. I think that's going to be the key to the game - starting fast - then maintaining that high level of play.
What does it feel like to you - to be going out onto the field, playing your last home game here in Memorial Stadium, playing your last Big Game?
Every day this week it comes closer, and each day I think about going out and playing this game. I've always loved this stadium, this place and everything about it, it's going to be just crazy not being able to play any more home games here. It's a big deal for me. I guess after this I'll just have to be a spectator - I wish I had more games to play here.
I do wish - looking back - that I could have appreciated it more while I was going through it all - but this year could be just the perfect way to end it.
