Former Cal center Francisco Elson is playing with the Denver Nuggets entry in the Rocky Mountain summer league based out of Salt Lake City. On Monday, he had 10 points and 3 rebounds in 17 minutes of action as the Nuggets defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers entry 91-67. Elson was matched up for part of the game against Cleveland's Desagana Diop, a 2nd year player out of high school who nearly had a points/rebounds/blocks triple double during the Cavs' previous game. Diop had a 0 point/2 rebound/7 foul outing in 7 minutes. Elson, a 1999 draftee of the Nuggets, made all 4 of his free throws. On Saturday he had 4 points and 9 rebounds in 27 minutes during a 64-53 win over Utah.
On Sunday, Yogi Stewart had 5 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks in 24 minutes playing for the Toronto entry in the Rocky Mountain League as the Raptors defeated Dallas 84-80.
