The California Golden Bears are targeting one of the top JUCO safeties in the country. Visalia (Calif.) College of the Sequoias Anthony "Juice" Leon originally signed and played at Florida State before transferring to COS this past spring. He is up to four offers after an SEC school joined the mix, and he recently returned from his first official visit…
(6-4, 225), aka Juice
, picked an offer from the California
Golden Bears last month. Cal defensive back coach Al Simmons took in a COS game in September and subsequently offered Juice
and teammate wide receiver Jamar Howard
also offered him last month, and he has since added an offer from Minnesota
and a SEC school.
"Yeah, Arkansas just offered," said Leon. "I just got back from the Oregon-UCLA game [last weekend]. I was taking my [Oregon] official visit."
He has standing offer to return to Florida State, but Juice says he is enjoying the West Coast. He would like to hear from UCLA and possibly USC, but as it stands Oregon and California are his top schools among his offers. He plans to visit Berkeley but the date is still in question.
"I don't know when I am [going to Cal] for an official visit," said Leon. "I think it will be sometime in December."
He is on pace to graduate in December with two years to play two.
