Cal Rebounds Beats Ducks, 76-69

The California Golden Bears bounced back from two straight Pac-10 losses to down the Oregon Ducks 76-69. Junior guard Jerome Randle bounced back from a rough stretch of games to his usual self, scoring 22 points and dishing five assists.

Coach Mike Montgomery used his bench liberally even 7-foot-3 Freshman Max Zhang saw action and contributed a basket. There was even a Jordan Wilkes sighting in the second half of the game. He usually starts but had a seat firmly on the bench after midway through the first half. He justified his extra playing time with eight points and four rebounds with a couple nice assists from the post.

Oregon was lead by start guard Tajuan Porter who lead all scorers with 26 points. The Ducks, after losing to the Cardinal earlier this week, remain winless in the Pac-10.

Next up for Cal is a trip to SoCal and their toughest test of the young season versus UCLA on Thursday. The Bruins, who lost to the Washington Huskies on Sunday, also have two loses in the conference and the winner of this game will remain in first place in the Pac-10.
