ScoutTV: Cal Target DE Corey Miller

The California Golden Bears have been recruiting the Atlantic Coast like no other school west of the Mississippi. One of the prospects Cal is targeting is Duncan (SC) Byrnes defensive end Corey Miller. He has continually named the Bears among his top schools after the Bears offered him last year. Miller is shown in action from the 2008 season…

Corey Miller (6-4, 220) plays his prep ball deep in the heart of ACC country. It is no mystery he names Clemson, Florida State, and North Carolina among his favorites. However, one of his top schools comes from clear across the country.

California offered the standout last fall. Miller was pleasantly surprised by the offer, and after talking to DL Coach Josh Lupoi, he moved the Bears firmly into his top three schools.

With so much talent in the Golden State, why would the Cal look to South Carolina for defensive talent?

In the Golden Bears "new" 3-4 defensive scheme, defensive ends/outside linebackers are a premium. Specifically, players like Miller who can play on the line or be a ferocious pass rusher from the upright position.

He is shown in action from his junior campaign. He is wearing #80 in the clips.
