Four-Star DT Commits to Cal

Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian defensive tackle Cassius Marsh is the nation's No. 3 ranked defensive tackle according to On Easter Sunday, he decided to end his recruitment by verbally committing to the California Golden Bears…

Cassius Marsh (6-4, 280) was very close to verbally committing to USC in mid-February. He decided to hold off and after attending California's junior day on February 28, the Golden Bears moved atop his list of schools.

Last month, he told he saw no end to his recruitment.

"I'm pretty much thinking that I'm going to wait until after the season, and take all my visits," said Marsh. "I was pretty close but now I want to take some more time."

He also said he would make his second visit to Berkeley on Easter weekend.

Marsh came through and made his second visit to the Bay, however, on Easter Sunday, he did see an end to his recruitment.

He verbally committed Cal, and told via text message he was elated to be a Cal Bear.

"It feels amazing, absolutely amazing," Marsh said about committing to Cal via text.

Marsh was unable to talk to us on Sunday, but CSD will have a story on Monday after speaking with the latest Cal verbal commit.

He earned First Team All-State Underclass honors in 2008. He was an all-CIF pick after recording 55 tackles and six sacks for the Lions.

Marsh is the second defensive player to verbally commit to Cal in three days. He joins linebacker Cecil Whiteside and defensive tackle Jay Guy as the Golden Bears verbal commits of the 2010 class.
