Bears Offer 2011 Four-Star RB

Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter's Preparatory School running back Savon Huggins is going to be a highly recruited player and is picking up offers already, including his latest from the Cal Bears...

Savon Huggins (5-11, 185) is holding a solid number of offers right now, however he has no favorites and is really putting all of his focus onto his team.

"Right now we're 1-1 on the season and we just beat Bergen Catholic High School this past weekend which was big for us," Huggins said. "We play Bayonne this week, so I'm looking forward to that. I don't really keep track of my stats, but I guess I probably have like 300 yards rushing and two touchdowns."

"I just found out that California offered today," Huggins stated. "I also have West Virginia, Boston College, Rutgers, Miami, Virginia and Tennessee and from what I've been told there are more waiting, but I'm not really focusing on that right now and let my coach deal with it for now."

"Everyone is really equal to me because like I said, my main priority is just this football season and not recruiting at all," Huggins explained. "I'm obviously aware of the offers, but right now I'm going to wait until after my season to start worrying about the recruiting stuff."

"With Cal I just got the offer, but I haven't talked to the coaches yet. Jahvid Best goes there and Khalil Wilkes is my friend that goes to Stanford, so I've heard a bit about the school. I'll look more in-depth into all of these schools after the season."

Huggins won't be taking any visits during the season.
