The Cal offer now makes seven total offers for Austin. The past two weeks has been especially active as Notre Dame, Arizona and Cal have been added to previous offers from Kansas State, Colorado State, Colorado and Stanford.
Austin, who has started since his sophomore season, is one of the more decorated players in the Colorado class of 2011.
Last season Austin, who was a team captain for Chaparral, was named to the All-Colorado squad. Augmenting his work on the field, Austin is a strong student who has been named honorable mention Academic All-State two consecutive years.
Austin has a very busy offseason planned with him hitting the weight room and combines as well as practicing for track and field.
Regarding camps and combines, Austin was a participant at the U.S. Army National Combine in San Antonio last month.
In the weight room, Austin looks to add to his totals as he will soon post new maxes beyond his 300 plus bench and 400 plus squat. For track, Austin is already working on his form in an attempt to improve on his third place finish in the discus at the 5A state track meet last year.
With schools from the Big 12, PAC 10, Mountain West and independent Notre Dame on board, expect more offers to come for this prototypical offensive tackle.
