Kessler Adds Second Pac-10 Offer

Cody Kessler (6-2, 220) walked away from the Badger/New Level Athletics 7on7 Passing Tournament in Las Vegas earlier this month as arguably the best passing prospect at the camp. With four offers in hand, he is visiting Alabama and Pittsburgh this week for unofficial visits. On Wednesday morning, en route to LAX, he received his fifth offer from Arizona State.

"[LB] Coach [Trent] Bay sent me an email to call [offensive coordinator Noel] Mazzone that he had something to talk to me about," said Kessler.

Kessler called Mazzone while on the road and received the good news.

"We're offering, I'm offering seven guys and sending them out now," Kessler said of Mazzone's first words.

"He said they watched my tape and everything he saw on my tape they love. What we do on offense is what they do."

Kessler is flying out to Alabama today for an unofficial visit. He then will drive up to Pittsburgh for a visit as well. "Pitt's still my No. 1 and Boise State I like," he added.

But the Sun Devils will make things interesting.

"It's the Pac-10, that's a plus," said Kessler. "I don't know much about Arizona State. The only coach I've talked to was Bray before they offered. I like the Pac-10 and I like the weather [in Tempe]."
