Tuesday Visit

A day after securing a verbal commitment from Scout.com's fifth rated defensive tackle nationally, the California Golden Bears welcome the 11th rated defensive tackle. Four-star Lakewood (Calif.) defensive tackle Todd Barr is in Berkeley Tuesday for an unofficial visit…

Todd Barr (6-3, 265) is in double digits with his newest offer coming in from SMU.

And prior to the Mustangs offering, Colorado and Arizona State offered the four-star tackle. Those offers go with ones he had from Minnesota, Stanford, Northern Arizona, Arizona, Oregon State, Texas Tech, UCLA and Washington.

In the meantime, Barr is hitting some Pac-10 schools this week.

"I am on some unofficial visits to Stanford (which he visited Monday), Cal on Tuesday, and Oregon on Wednesday," said Barr.

Barr also had two postseason honors bestowed on him late last month.

"I had been invited to the UnderArmour All-American Game and the U.S. Army Game but chose to play in the UnderArmour Game," said Barr, who will follow teammate Jesse Scroggins in playing in Orlando.

Barr is coming off a strong junior season, where he was a second team all-state underclass pick. He had 87 tackles, 29 for loss, 12 sacks, five forced fumbles, three pass deflections and two fumble recoveries and helped the Lancers end Long Beach Poly's stranglehold on the Moore League, and helped them to the CIF-SS Pac-5 semifinals.
