Best Headed to Motor City

Former Cal Bear running back Jahvid Best had to sweat it out longer than most in New York as the Detroit Lions traded up to get back in the first round taking him with the 30th overall pick. Best joins Alualu as Bears, and the only Pac-10 players, taken in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft... NFL Draft Blog

With starting RB Kevin Smith coming back from an ACL injury, running back became an increased need for the Detroit Lions.

By selecting University of California RB Jahvid Best, the Lions have added one of the fastest backs in this year's draft.

Best should be able to provide at least 10-12 touches/game on offense this coming season. -- Adam Caplan
