Cal on Hankins' List of Favorites

Dallas (Tex) Parish Episcopal High linebacker Rob Hankins is one Cal's top targets in the 2011 class. The four-star standout has narrowed his list down to handful of schools, including his early leader...

Rob Hankins (6-1, 218) is one of the most highly sought after prospects in the state of Texas.

The four-star playmaker currently holds over 20 scholarship offers from schools like Miami (FL), Arkansas, Arizona, Cal, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Notre Dame, SMU, Texas A&M and Texas Tech among others.

Despite having so many options as far as which college to attend, Hankins has been able things down to a select few schools.

"I have narrowed things down to four schools that are currently on top for me. Miami (FL) is my leader right now, and Arizona, Cal and Arkansas are the other three [in no particular order]," said Hankins.

Miami - "I took a visit to Miami and got to find out a lot about them. They have a great balance between football and academics. I love the people and can see myself spending the next four years with them. Going there gives me the best opportunity to get to the NFL. That has always been my dream. Also, their program is about to blow up and I want to be a part of that."

Arizona - "I loved the people over there. They made me feel like I fit in over there. There is a really good opportunity for me to play early there. "

California - "I like the balance they have from having an almost Ivy League degree and a great football program. I also feel like they want me. I'm the only inside linebacker they have offered. They make me feel appreciated."

Arkansas - "Arkansas is closer to home. Going there would give my dad a good chance to see me play. I feel like they can develop me into the best player I can be. A lot of people I know go there.

The Dallas linebacker plans to visit Missouri and Texas A&M in the near future to check out their campuses. As far as making a final decision, it appears that everyone will have to wait.

"I want to take my commitment to national signing day," added Hankins. "I want to take my time and make sure that I make the right decision."

Hankins finished his senior season with 136 tackles, 12 sacks and one interception.
