Scout 300 QB Commits to Cal

The California Golden Bears pride themselves on landing a premier quarterback every recruiting year and 2011 will be no different as a Scout 300 member made a verbal commitment to Cal offensive coordinator Andy Ludwig Tuesday morning…

San Jose (Calif.) Archbishop Mitty Kyle Boehm has decided to end his recruitment.

"I wanted to let you know I committed to Cal!" Boehm told us Tuesday morning via text. "I called [head] Coach [Jeff] Tedford and [OC Andy] Ludwig but only Ludwig answered."

Boehm had told us at last Friday's Elite 11 Regional Camp in Berkeley that he was close to making a decision. He was one of the top quarterbacks at the Elite 11 as well at Sunday's Stanford NFTC.

As a member of the Scout 300, he will be a four-star recruit when evaluations are complete.
