UCF Falls to B-CC

ORLANDO – The UCF baseball team lost to visiting Bethune-Cookman 18-5 Tuesday night at Jay Bergman Field. The Golden Knights (25-18) lost their third straight game of the season after committing a season-high five errors vs. the Wildcats (22-20). B-CC also scored the most runs of any team this season vs. UCF while nine Golden Knight pitchers combined for 12 walks.

The 12 walks were due in part to a questionable strike zone by home plate umpire Tim Pasch.

The Wildcats registered two infield singles in the first to help lead to the two runs while collecting five walks en route to the four-run second.

The long game continued for UCF in the fifth as B-CC scored eight times to put the game away. In the inning, the UCF defense committed four errors to lead to the big inning for the Wildcats.

In all, B-CC scored six unearned runs on the night.

Roberto Rodriguez was 4-for-6 with a home run and two RBI for the Wildcats while Juan Figueroa was 3-for-4 with three RBI for the victors.
