"Overall I think UCF's season went pretty well. They definitely ended on a good note as will with a big win in their bowl game," Hernly said.
At 6-foot-4 and 275 pounds, Hernly likes his chances of being able to compete right away but knows it'll be a challenge.
"As for me going in and playing right away- that's up in the air, it all depends on what happens when I get there. Nothing is guaranteed so I have to go out there and earn my spot."
Hernly says he's developed a good relationship with a couple coaches on the UCF staff.
"I talk to Coach Callahan a lot, he's the one that recruits my area and I talk to Coach Key the offensive line coach when I can. I like their staff a lot, they're all really cool and great coaches."
Ball State and FIU also offered the talented offensive line prospect before his commitment to UCF but says all others have backed off.
"Schools aren't contacting me much anymore, I make it pretty clear that I'm a solid commit to UCF."
