UCF, which is coming off a record-tying
21-win season, received 79 votes finishing tied for fourth with Belmont in the
coaches poll. Selected ahead of the Golden Knights were Georgia State, Troy State and Mercer. GSU, which was the No. 1 choice in both polls, received seven
first-place votes from the coaches.

Belmont, will host the 2003-04 tournament on March 4-6, in Nashville, Tenn. at the brand-new Curb Event Center (3500).
In 2002-03 the Golden Knights were selected by both the coaches and the media to finish fifth in the A-Sun South and went on to become one of four teams in the conference to post at least 20 wins. The Golden Knights advanced to the A-Sun championship game last season eventually falling to Troy State.
The Golden Knights will open the regular season at home against Puerto Rico Mayaguez on Nov. 22. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. UCF will play one preseason game on Nov. 13 against St. Leo at UCF Arena. Tip off is set for 7:30 p.m.
