UCF Adds a Four-Star Wide Receiver

UCF had already put together a great class of 10 recruits, including some highly touted players from the Georgia area. After landing a talented lineman from south Florida to make it 11 commits, the Knights received perhaps their biggest commitment in over a decade, adding the extremely talented Stephen Hill to their 2009 class.

The Knights added the 12th commitment of the 2009 class this afternoon when Stephen Hill of Miller Grove H.S (Georgia) committed to UCF. Hill is ranked as a four-star receiver and should be an instant asset for the Knight's passing game.

"Right now my height and speed will allow me to play right away," Hill told InsideKnights.com shortly after committing. "I'd like to work on route running a little though. Coach (David) Kelly says he expects big things of me as a freshman."

At 6'4",185 lbs, Hill has the size to be a legitimate target as a freshman. With a 4.4 40-yard dash, Hill also has superb speed. Last season, Hill also had eight touchdown reception, proving that he can certainly put all his physical tools to use.

Hill's relationship with Coach Kelly was one of the primary reasons he decided to commit to UCF.

"I really have a good relationship with him. He's two hours away from some family members, so they are real close. He's a great guy, we've been talking since December and we get along real well."

Rated as a four-star receiver (ranked 34th at his position by Scout.com), Hill is aware that coaches and fans will have huge expectations for him.

"The hype is nice, but I am just trying to keep humble. I still have senior year ahead of me, so I just have to stay focused," said Hill, who is also relieved to know where he will be playing next year. "It feels great; it's nice to have the recruiting process over with. I'm really happy I made this decision, I feel like it is the right one."

Hill was so impressed with UCF's reputation and confident with what Coach Kelly thought of him, he committed to the Knights without even visiting the campus.

"No, I haven't been there yet, but I plan on going for an official and just a regular visit."

When Hill does visit, he'll be meeting Coach George O'Leary for the first time.

"I talked to him today, but I haven't met him yet. He congratulated me for picking UCF and says he looks forward to seeing me. He said he'll come up when he officially can."

With schools such as Mississippi St, North Carolina, UAB and Miami (OH) having offered Hill, he expects to continue to receive interest, but he says he if fully committed to being a Knight.

"Right now I'm not expecting to take any more visits, I am 100% committed to UCF."

As summer is coming to an end, UCF is wrapping things up with a bang. The addition of offensive lineman Renato Cunha started the weekend off strong, but adding Hill makes it a tremendous day for UCF recruiting. With an already young and talented group of receivers, bringing in Hill will make UCF's unit one of the deepest and most explosive in the C-USA.
