Knights NFL Notes checks in on former Knights who have made it to the NFL

-Troubled yet talented former UCF wide receiver Brandon Marshall received his first bit of good news in quite a while, as the NFL reduced his suspension for violation of the team's personal conduct policy from three games to just one.

-Former Knights star quarterback Daunte Culpepper has sent an open letter to all 32 NFL teams expressing his consideration for a backup role. Culpepper previously snubbed backup offers from a few NFL teams, and is now realizing that the only way he'll gain NFL employment this season is in a backup role. Teams that have been reportedly interested have been Green Bay and Baltimore.

-Former record-setting star running back Kevin Smith didn't play in the Detroit Lions preseason finale as they defeated the Buffalo Bills, 14-6. The lack of action by Smith further solidifies the likelihood of him being the Lions opening day starting running back.

-Minnesota Vikings rookie defensive tackle Leger Douzable recorded three tackles in the Vikings 16-10 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
