Another Frankie Davis Update

A wrench was thrown in Frankie Davis' plans last week when he found that one of his leaders may not have room for him any more. The stud defensive tackle isn't getting too worked up about it though.

Frankie Davis told last week that his two favorite schools were UCF and Purdue. Later reports from Christopher Smith at surfaced that the Boilermakers had ran out of room for defensive linemen. Davis talked to us about this latest occurrence and what that means for him and UCF.

"Basically, someone committed before I did, so I don't know if they have another spot for me," Davis told

Purdue already has seven commitments on the defensive line for its 2009 class, leaving little room for any more prospects along the front four.

"The coaches told me to call them and I haven't gotten in contact with them yet. I'm not really sweating it though, everything happens for a reason."

Davis originally intended to make his decision this week, but says this opens things back up, especially for the Knights, who were considered Davis' second favorite.

"I now have some other schools to visit. UCF is in the picture, for sure. I'm not stressing though."

The Clermont (Fla.) tackle will start taking visits to other school at the beginning of the next calendar year.

"I'll be visiting UCF January 9th and will be heading up to West Virginia on the 16th. I also like UConn."

As for setting a new date to make a decision, Davis will now take his time.

"I don't know right now, I think I'll wait a little bit. I'll wait to visit UCF and check it out before I make my choice."

With Purdue out of the way, Davis is now high on the Knights, although he won't rush to any decisions for now.
