Marshall's Popularity

Brandon Marshall is not a household name amongst the sporting landscape, but he's trying to change that. Marshall capped his fantastic season with his first-ever Pro Bowl appearance, and he was a favorite target of not only his own quarterback, Jay Cutler, but also "the Pro Bowl Mayor," Peyton Manning.

"These guys had great years," Peyton Manning said. "This is the first time I've played with Brandon and I've played with Andre over here before a few times and they're just outstanding players. Those guys have such great size and speed to go along with it."

Marshall finished second on the AFC team with five receptions for 44 yards, including a 20-yard catch and run early in the game. Although Marshall couldn't reel in a few passes that may have changed the outcome, he kept a very level attitude about the game.

"At the end of the day it's just about coming out here and having a good time," Marshall said. "It's about looking back at the year you had and the success we had as individuals. At the end of the day it's all about the team and the coaches that helped us get here. It's time to get out here with your family and get away."

Marshall hopes that his former college teammate, Jacksonville's Mike Walker can someday make the trip to the Pro Bowl and he made a prediction for Walker in 2009.

"Walker is a guy I wish Shanahan would've got," Marshall said about the desire to play with his former Knights teammate. "He's been banged up a little bit, but this year he's going to come into his own and probably take over out there in Jacksonville."

If Walker can follow in Marshall's footsteps on the field, Knights and Jaguars fans will be very happy.
