UCF a Favorite for Tarpley?

Plymouth, Minnesota is 1600 miles from Orlando, Florida, but that didn't stop A.J. Tarpley from making a visit to UCF last Tuesday. Find out his sentiments towards the Knights.

Tarpley is listed as a running back, but is being recruited as a linebacker.

"I want to play linebacker at the collegiate level," Tarpley told Inside Knights. "That's what I'm happy with."

Tarpley was also very happy with his trip to UCF, citing meeting the coaches as his favorite part of the visit.

"My favorite part of the visit was when I met the coaches. (Also) I really liked the dorm rooms and the facilities were great. My family was very impressed."

UCF fans might be puzzled as to how the Knights even got in contact or found out about this stellar recruit from Minnesota. The 6-2, 210 lb. athlete said that it was him who actually got in touch with the Knights in the first place.

"I actually sent my tapes (game film) to schools that I like all around the country, and UCF was one of them."

UCF was definitely impressed, because they gave him an offer. Kansas State also has offered the Wayzata Sr. High School star, although he hasn't made a visit there yet. Tarpley plans on visiting UCLA's junior day along with Minnesota and Iowa.

When asked if UCF is his favorite school, Tarpley simply replied with an excited "Yes!"
