UCF FanFest / Spring Game-Details and Scoring

Fans attending Saturday's UCF Football FanFest should be aware of several changes to the standard parking and traffic flows around Bright House Networks Stadium. Additionally, the Spring Game's scoring system has been announced.

Due to the annual Magic 107.7 Easter Egg Hunt in the area surrounding UCF Arena and Memory Mall, Gemini Blvd. between East Plaza and West Plaza will be closed to traffic between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday. Therefore, all UCF football fans are encouraged to get to the stadium by taking McCullough Road to North Orion Blvd. There will be signage on Alafaya Trail pointing fans in the direction which will provide convenient access to the east side of the stadium where Saturday's courtesy parking will be. Fans who travel to the stadium off of Gemini Drive from the south and eastern portions of campus will not be affected.

Lots E6 and E7, both adjacent to the stadium, will open at 9 a.m. with overflow directed to lots E3, E4 and E5, all next to the softball stadium. All parking is free and on a first-come, first-served basis. Tailgating on Saturday will be limited to the E lots only and begin at 9 a.m. when they open. Normal game day alcohol policies apply. See UCFGameDay.com for a full listing of those.

Or, before the Spring Game, which kicks off at 2 p.m., fans can join UCF Football Lettermen's Club at the first annual Bubbalou's Pre-Game Pig-Out just outside the east side of the stadium and, after the game, spend time with this year's team at the UCF Football FanDay autograph session. "BBQ Plate" tickets for the Bubbalou's Pre-Game Pig-Out & UCF Football Legends Barbecue are NOW on pre-sale for only $5. On game day, BBQ plate tickets will be $8. A barbecue "plate" will consist of a sandwich, beans and coleslaw. Bubbalou's will also have other tasty items and beverages on-sale to hungry UCF football fans.

Gates will open for the spring game at 1 p.m., following new season ticket holder select-a-seat that will start at 9 a.m. Spring Game tickets are just $5. Current UCF students will have complimentary admission with a valid student ID card. Children under two are also free. All patrons attending new Season Ticket Holder Select-A-Seat are asked to enter through Gate 13, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. We kindly alert our patrons that VIDEO and STILL CAMERAS are prohibited to bring into the stadium for the Spring Game.

Fans are also encouraged to stay after the game for a free autograph session with coaches and players. Those hoping to truly enjoy a full day of UCF sports can watch the softball team play Marshall at 12 p.m. and the baseball team face Tulane at 4 p.m. on Saturday, bookending the 2 p.m. Spring Game.

SPRING GAME SCORING:

UCF's 2009 Spring Game will feature a modified scoring system to accommodate the offense vs. defense format as opposed to a traditional matchup of true gold and white teams. Below are the ways in which each team can earn points. Teams can receive more than one scoring item on certain plays. There will be no kickoffs. All punts will be fair caught.

The offense will earn points for a touchdown (6), field goal (3), extra point (1), first down (1), run of at least 12 yards (5), pass of at least 18 yards (5) or a drive of at least 10 plays (5).

The defense will earn points for a tackle for loss (1), sack (3), caused fumble (2), turnover (5), touchdown (7), safety (2), three-and-out (3), drive stop (1), blocked field goal (3) or a blocked extra point (1).
