Christian Jones Has Tough Decision

Christian Jones has an offer to play football from just about every elite school that you could possibly think of. That does not mean that UCF is not in the race.

Christian Jones is one of the top prospects in the state of Florida. He stands out as a man among boys on the field, with his 6'4", 215 pound frame. He has the size, quickness, and playmaking ability to possibly make it all the way to the NFL. It's not surprising, as his father Willie was a member of the Oakland Raiders Super Bowl XV team. His brother, Willie Jr., played for FSU (also his father's alma matter). Despite strong family ties to FSU, Jones says that he does not have a clear-cut favorite school yet.

"Right now I'm still open (on what school he wants to go to). I'm planning on weeding out my list later in the summer, and I'm going to wait it out and take all the visits. I'm planning on visiting about 3 or 4 schools over the summer."

Within the last month, both Notre Dame and Alabama have offered him, adding to an already impressive list of over 30 schools. UCF has offered Christian early as well, and when asked about the Knights, Christian's face lit up.

"I like UCF a lot. Coach Collins (the linebackers coach) is a great guy. He's really funny...a cool guy. They have really nice facilities there, and it's like 15 minutes from my house."

In his spring game against Seminole High School, Jones played on both offense and defense. He even played some snaps at quarterback, but he is being recruited mainly as an outside linebacker.

"I'm just playing offense to help my team out. I think I wanna play quarterback in the fall, maybe I can help the team out with that."

Expect Jones to commit later on in the year, and don't be surprised if he picks the Knights. He has already visited campus three times, and was even sporting a UCF cap. Stay tuned, Knights fans...
