UCF's summer was just beginning to heat up when the Knights landed Woodley Cadet from Seminole Ridge H.S. (Fla.) in late April. The safety was UCF's fourth commit at the time and since then, UCF has added five more players to the mix. The Knights have clearly had a busy summer and InsideKnights.com recently checked in with the South Florida stud to see how his summer was going.
"It's been going pretty well," Cadet told InsideKnights.com. "We've been working out a lot, doing two-a-days. We went to a team camp at FAU and that was pretty good. We also do a lot of 7-on-7 stuff."
After falling short of making the post-season last year despite a 7-3 record, Cadet is motivated to make a run in the state playoffs this year and will embrace his leadership role as a senior.
"We're definitely getting ready for a good season, we want to make the playoffs. We're set at the skill positions and we have a new quarterback this year and I'm confident in him. I have a big role this year, I'll be expected to lead by example."
Things haven't just been hot for Cadet on the field, as he has also seen his stock take off since he committed to UCF.
"Yeah, I think I did get more attention after committing, I got a lot more letters. Wake Forest offered me and they want me to come visit, which I might possibly do."
Despite receiving more letters and calls, Cadet still says he's a Knight.
"I'm pretty confident with my decision, I still want to go to UCF for the most part."
Cadet still calls Coach Salem, his recruiting coach at UCF, regularly and says the two have a good rapport.
"He's cool, I'm actually planning on calling him later today."
With the season approaching shortly, Cadet says he anxious for things to get underway. He will still find time though to take a trip back to Orlando to show his father the campus.
With the summer winding down, things are still sizzling for Cadet and all indications point to him burning up the field as a Knight a year from now.
