Clayton Geathers and fellow teammate Davious Chestnut decided to end their recruitment and commit to UCF.
Although UCF was their only offer, they had been receiving increased interest from several powers such as Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. Geathers is a solid corner and he possess a rare combination of size and speed, standing at 6'2" 200 lbs , and running a 4.4 forty yard dash. He also bring a long line of genes with him as he is a "GEATHERS" cousin of both Jarvis and Kwame. Geathers decided to end his recruitment because UCF just felt like the right atmosphere for him and Chestnut.
"The atmosphere is very nice," Geathers stated. "We feel like we can do some damage there, and like UCF."
It was also very important that the Knights were able to offer and land both Chestnut and Geathers.
"It was very important [that UCF offered both of us] we have always been together," Geathers added. "We play together and we hang out with each other."
He plays both corner and running back in high school but will be focusing on corner at the next level. His goals this
year are very simple; he wants to get that elusive state title, as Carver's Bay finished as runners up in 2008 in large part due
to the efforts of both Geathers and Chestnut. For those hoping to build a pipeline to the Geathers' family, I wouldn't
expect to see another Geathers anytime soon.
"I am the last one," Geathers said with a chuckle.
UCF did a good job of addressing a need in the corner position by grabbing two corners with a great combination of
size in speed from a winning program.
