Keys to the game for the Knights:
Pressure the quarterback- Zach Maynard has proven he can play the position and he has a wide variety of weapons at his disposal. With a young secondary, the Knights need to apply that pressure.
Run the ball- Brynn Harvey has not looked good at all in the first two games. He should have a chance to redeem himself this week against a porous Bulls rush defense.
Hold Roosevelt in Check- Naaman Roosevelt is a special player and one of the best receivers in the nation. The Knights have got to tackle him after the catch, and keep him from making big plays.
Play the same brand of football- Brett Hodges has looked cool, calm, and relaxed in spot duty relief in the first two games, and that rubbed off on the other 10 starters on offense. In his first start, he needs to show the same poise, and the Knights need to try to continue to allow him to work his slow and methodical approach.
Win the turnover battle- Both teams have struggled to hang onto the ball and to create turnovers in the early going. This could be what ultimately decides the game.
What to Look For:
Look for the Knights to open it up a bit more- The Knights have their man at quarterback now and he has shown he can be successful with the vanilla offense the Knights like to run. Look for Charlie Taaffe to add a little flare to that offense this week.
Look for Hodges the entire game- It is hard to justify putting in Calabrese again. This is Hodges team now and he should start and finish this game.
Look for some turnovers- The Knights defense is way too good to not create them, and the Bulls have had problems hanging onto the ball.
Look for a very special half-time show- Surviving members of that special 1958 Bulls team are making the trip down to Orlando for a special ceremony.
A mostly "white" crowd- This game is a "White Out" and most fans should be filling the stands wearing white UCF apparel.
Naaman Roosevelt will have over 100 and a TD- He will take advantage of a young secondary and will have a big game. The key will be limiting the YAC and the big plays.
The Knights will win- Buffalo cannot stop the run, UCF can and ultimately that should be the deciding factor in this game.
Harvey will have 150 yards on the ground.- The best cure for a struggling running back is a terrible rush defense. Harvey gets that this week and he should feast on it.
Kamar Aiken will have a big week- He is one of the guys I thought would have a break out year and he has been flirting with success as of late. This will be the week he finally breaks out and has a monster game.
The Knights will hold Buffalo under 21 points- Buffalo will not be able to start a running game this week and I just don't see the secondary giving up three touchdowns through the air this week.
