Tall Help Coming to UCF?

The Knights are an offer away from adding one of the most underrated receiver prospects in the area.

Things are going well for Stacey Robinson. The 6'5", 210 lb. receiver and his Jones Tigers are flying high after defeating Frostproof and South Sumter in a tiebreaker to make it to the state playoffs.

"I feel pretty good right now," Robinson told InsideKnights.com. "We played against each team for one quarter. First we beat Frostproof 7-0. We scored early and just held the ball to beat them and then we had a Kansas City tiebreaker in our second game against South Sumter. Our defense held them to a field goal and then we scored a touchdown to win."

Robinson is relieved to have made the playoff and now his team will finish the regular season against Oak Ridge before they travel to Cocoa for a first round playoff game.

"Everything is going good, it's smooth right now. I'm happy that we're in the playoffs but we're still taking it one game at a time, we have Oak Ridge this week."

As for Robinson's individual performance this season, well he's doing alright there as well. He has 435 receiving yards this season and six touchdowns.

"Individually I'm scoring a touchdown around every game; I'm having a good season."

Robinson has used his size to his advantage this season and is interesting to see how his game translates at the next level.

"(My size) helps a lot. Most corners I play are around 5'8" or 5'9" so I try to body them up and come down with jump balls. I can't wait until college, it'll be a big challenge."

Speaking of college, Robinson has narrowed his choices of perspective teams down to two for the time being. In a previous interview with Scout.com's Mike Bakas, Robinson said he liked UCF and Iowa. We asked him what he liked about each school.

"Iowa plays the game right, the get down and dirty. I like their coach a lot too."

Iowa might be high on his list but UCF stands a cut above the rest.

"They have a real good program, their coaches are cool and it's just a great atmosphere there too. It's also close to home. Coach Kelly is recruiting me for them, I like him."

So far Robinson has an offer from Iowa, Indiana, FIU and he's waiting for his Clearing House to go through.

"I'm finishing tonight. I'm going to North Carolina this weekend, their coach tells me that most Division I schools haven't offered me yet because it hasn't gone through yet."

Once everything checks out with Robinson's paperwork the Knights are likely to offer him and once that happens UCF should gain another commit.

"I'd probably commit to UCF," said Robinson about a potential offer.
