UCF Men's Basketball Tops Tulane for CUSA Win

Behind a game-high 17 points from sophomore guard A.J. Rompza (Chicago, Ill.), the UCF men's basketball team topped Tulane, 64-52, at the UCF Arena Saturday. The Knights (12-12, 4-6 C-USA) closed the contest on a 23-5 run.

Tulane (7-17, 2-9) led 47-39 at the 9:43 mark, but then the Knights went on a 13-1 run and grabbed a one-point edge with just under four minutes to play when Rompza hit one of his four 3-pointers.

UCF forced 19 Green Wave turnovers.

In addition to his 17 points, Rompza added four assists and three steals in a career-high 39 minutes. Sophomore guard Isaac Sosa (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) added 13 points in the win.

UCF was playing at home for the first time since Jan. 30.

Kendall Timmons led Tulane with 12 points.

The Knights will return to action Tuesday, hosting Houston at 7 p.m.
