Dee Brown, an Exceptional Player

Brown is quite the exceptional player. He is a two-sport-standout who plays football and baseball for the Golden Knights, and has earned Freshman All-American honors by several news outlets after a stellar freshman campaign. In the Monmouth game Brown had a clutch, two-out, two-RBI single. With the bases loaded, Brown singled to right field to tie the game.

Dee Brown was born on October 21, 1982 in Brooksville, Florida.  He was the son of the late Jerome Brown, Lasonya and Scotty Scrivens.  His father, Jerome was an All-Pro defensive lineman with the Philadelphia Eagles.  Brown has two sisters and two brothers.  He was also recruited by Miami and
Tennessee, but chose UCF over the two.

Dee Brown, perhaps the best pure hitter in the Atlantic Sun, stated; "I just
want to be an all around person and be myself."  He is currently studying
criminal justice in his sophomore year here at the University of Central
Florida.

All-American honors by several news outlets after a stellar freshman

Brown went 2-for-5 with a stolen base average in collegiate debut at the
Florida International.

Brown was also named Atlantic Sun's Player of the Week for the efforts
against Bethune-Cookman and Samford was 8-for-11 at the plate in the
Campbell series with # RBI and 2 runs scored.  He also became the only UCF athlete to score a homer and a touchdown in the same academic year.

When asked which will be the toughest rival you will play this year, his
response was "all of them are our rivals, since we're the conference champ
and everybody is looking to take us down."

Brown stated in an interview, "Once you step onto the field there is
something different about it, I don't have to worry and just focus on the
game.  Football is the same as baseball; two places I can go where stress
doesn't exist."
