Chippewas Insider has learned that linebacker Ryan Petro of Winter Springs (Fla.) High School has verbally committed to Central Michigan.
A 6-foot-3, 205-pounder, Petro committed to the Chippewas following an official visit to the CMU campus this week. He becomes the 23rd known commitment overall and the fourth Florida recruit in the Chippewas' 2011 class.
Petro reportedly chose CMU over scholarship offers from Kent State and Eastern Michigan, and recruiting interest from the University of Pittsburgh.
