Chippewas Insider has learned that running back Martez Walker of Chicago Brother Rice High School has verbally committed to Central Michigan University.
A 5-foot-10, 185-pound standout, Walker received a scholarship offer from the Chippewas last month. He was also receiving recruiting interest from a number of Bowl Championship Subdivision schools, including Illinois, Purdue and Wisconsin.
Walker becomes the third known commitment in CMU's 2012 recruiting class, joining offensive linemen Dylan Anderson and Collin Goetz.
