Wilson Named to Biletnikoff Award Watch List

MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan University junior receiver Cody Wilson has been named to the 2011 Biletnikoff Award Watch List.

The Biletnikoff Award is presented annually to the nation's most outstanding wide receiver. The 2010 recipient was Oklahoma State's Justin Blackmon.

Cody Wilson had a breakout season as a sophomore in 2010, catching 83 passes for 1,137 yards and five touchdowns. He ranked eighth nationally in receiving yards (94.8 ypg), 11th in receptions (6.9 rpg) and 13th in total receiving yards (1,137). He recorded six 100-yard receiving games in 2010, including in each of the season's final three games when he caught a combined 35 passes for 420 yards.

Wilson's 1,137 receiving yards were the third most in a season in school history, while his 83 catches rank as the fifth most in school history. The 1,000-yard receiving season was just the sixth by an individual in CMU history. Wilson is four receptions and 381 yards shy of 10th place on CMU's career receptions and receiving yards lists.

Wilson, who was named the team's Herb Deromedi Most Valuable Player, earned All-Mid-American Conference second team honors as a receiver and third team accolades as a punt returner in 2010. He also was an Academic All-MAC and CoSIDA Academic All-District IV first team selection in 2010.
