There is, however, one school standing out on his radar along with a host of others in the ball park. The Rams of Colorado State hosted Benoit back in December and they're still standing out.
"The program is just changing around," Benoit said. "They got the coach McElwain from Alabama so you know that's a big step up, especially at my position. The stadium they're building, plus the facilities, they're making really big moves right now."
The Rams may be standing out but other programs are still in the hunt for Benoit as well. Although he doesn't hold official offers quite yet, Benoit says three programs are very interested in getting him on campus and possibly making the offer there.
"Nevada, Illinois and Vanderbilt are all interested," he said. "They all got my film kind of late but said they are impressed and I'm in the process of trying to schedule visits out there. If I use my remaining three I'll go to those places."
Benoit added the possibility of trips to Nevada and Illinois are probably more likely than Vanderbilt but he thinks his growth in size, from 185-pounds to 205-pounds, has helped to garner him more attention.
"They know I can be an every down back now," he said. "But they also like my speed, cutback vision and acceleration."
What about his decision time table?
"I wanted to announce on MLK day originally but I think I'm going to wait until signing day now once I see what happens."
