Johnie Drake took eighth in the 60m finals on Saturday evening, turning in a time of 6.72. DaBryan Blanton from Oklahoma took the top spot. He was the 60m champion with a time 6.59.
Drake becomes the 21st track and field All-American in CMU history. The last All-American was Jeff DeLong in 2001.
Drake automatically qualified for the championships at the Central Collegiate Indoor Track and Field Championships on Jan. 29. He turned in a time of 6.57 at Eastern Michigan's indoor track.
