Chippewas Add Two California JUCOs to 2004 Class

The Central Michigan University football team will welcome two more players this fall. The two Californians recently visited CMU and each gave the Chippewas a verbal commitment and will join the 2004 recruiting class.

Chippewas Insider has learned that two junior college players will join the Central Michigan football program beginning this fall.

The two are cornerback Rashon Brooks (5-9, 170) of Long Beach Community College and wide receiver Jason Cooper (6-2, 180) of El Camino Community College.

Both players are expected to provide immediate help at their respective positions.

Brooks has 4.4 speed and prepped at Long Beach Wilson High School. He is a redshirt sophomore and has two years of eligibility remaining.

Cooper has 4.5 speed to go with his size. He prepped at Dominguez High School in Compton, Calif., and will also have two years of eligibility as a member of the Chippewas. He was heavily recruited by PAC-10 schools as a prep player, including UCLA, Oregon and Arizona.

This brings to 25 the number of players in CMU's 2004 recruiting class.
