Chippewas Add Speedy Wide Receiver

Central Michigan University has added another piece to its 2004 football recruiting puzzle. He is a wide receiver who has spent this past season at Hargrave (Va.) Military Academy.

Chippewas Insider has learned that wide receiver Ben Hollaway (6-0, 185) of Hargrave (Va.) Military Academy has plans to play for Central Michigan University.

Hollaway is eligible to play in the fall and will reportedly have four years of eligibility for the Chippewas.

He is a 2003 graduate of Southfield (Mich.) Lathrup High School, where he earned all-area honors in football and was also a standout point guard on the basketball team.

Hollaway helped lead Hargrave to a 7-1 record this year, the school's only loss coming at the hands of the West Virginia University JV team.

In December, Hollaway ran a 4.28 hand-timed 40-yard dash at the Hargrave Military Academy combine.

Hollaway joins fellow wideouts Jason Cooper (6-2, 180) of El Camino (Calif.) Community College and Darren Martin (6-4, 190) of New Orleans (La.) McDonogh 35 High School.

The Chippewas still have one scholarship remaining and could very well carry it over to the 2005 recruiting class.
