Detroit Standout Commits to CMU

The Central Michigan University men's basketball program has added its second verbal commitment for the 2007 recruiting class.

Chippewas Insider has learned that shooting guard Jeremy Allen (6-4, 180) of Detroit Cass Tech High School has made a verbal commitment to Central Michigan University.

Rated among the top shooting guards in the state of Michigan's 2007 recruiting class, Allen chose CMU over offers from Toledo and Towson State.

Allen joins Chase Simon of Detroit Community High School in the Chippewas 2007 recruiting class. Like Simon, Allen is rated a three-star recruit by Scout.com.

CMU is also recruiting Allen's Cass Tech teammate, point guard William Eddie III, who is the son of CMU assistant coach William Eddie Jr. Eddie made a verbal commitment to SMU, but is reportedly considering an offer from the Chippewas.
