Michigan Gamebreaker Commits to CMU

The Central Michigan University football program has received a verbal commitment from one of the most exciting prep players in the state of Michigan.

Chippewas Insider has learned that wide receiver Valtorrey Showers of Detroit Crockett has given a verbal commitment to Central Michigan University.

A 5-foot-9, 170-pound speedster, last season Showers returned two kicks and two punts for touchdowns. He also caught six touchdown passes from his wide receiver position.

Showers reportedly was recruited to play slot receiver for the Chippewas but he could also compete for early playing time as a return specialist.

He joins tight end/defensive end David Blackburn, offensive lineman Darren Keyton and cornerback Lavarus Williams in CMU's 2008 recruiting class.
