Michigan Defensive End Commits to CMU

The Central Michigan University football program welcomed some priority recruits to campus this weekend. One of those key recruits has given the Chippewas a verbal commitment.

Chippewas Insider has learned that defensive end Mike Repovz of Lansing (Mich.) Catholic Central High School has given a verbal commitment to Central Michigan University.

Repovz, a 6-foot-4, 215-pounder with 4.65 speed, was reportedly on campus today with other key CMU recruits from the state of Michigan and around the Midwest.

A standout athlete in both football and basketball, Repovz was named to the Associated Press Class B All-State team (honorable mention) as well as the Lansing State Journal All-Area team following last season.

Repovz is also a star on the hardcourt for Lansing Catholic. He will be a three-year varsity starter for the Cougars this season after being named to the LSJ All-Area team after last season.

He becomes the sixth verbal commitment in the Chippewas 2008 recruiting class and the second defensive end, joining Jamal Collins of national power Miami Northwestern, who committed to CMU earlier this month.
