Chippewas Insider has learned that quarterback Ryan Radcliff of Sherwood (Ohio) Fairview High School made a verbal commitment to Central Michigan University Sunday while visiting campus.
Radcliff, considered a priority target for the Chippewas and many other Mid-American Conference programs, threw for 4,611 yards and 57 touchdowns last season for Fairview.
A 6-foot-2, 195-pounder, Radcliff claimed offers from Western Michigan, Bowling Green, Ball State, Eastern Michigan, Ohio and Toledo, in addition to the Chippewas. Last week, he narrowed that list of seven schools down to four finalists.
Radcliff reportedly visited CMU this weekend when he committed to the Chippewas over his other three finalists, BGSU, Ball St. and WMU.
Radcliff joins tight end David Blackburn, cornerback, Lavarus Williams, defensive end Mike Repovz, offensive lineman Darren Keyton, wide receiver Valtorrey Showers and defensive end Jamal Collins in CMU's 2008 recruiting class.
