Chippewas Insider has learned that power forward Lawrence Bridges (6-6, 220) of Detroit Henry Ford High School has made a verbal commitment to Central Michigan University.
Bridges, who also played for The Family AAU program, chose CMU over offers from the University of Detroit, Fordham, Eastern Illinois and Niagara, among other schools.
He joins 6-foot-8 power froward Zach Saylor of Lansing (Mich.) Waverly High School in the Chippewas 2008 recruiting class.
CMU still has two scholarships available for next year's class and could use one for a point guard. Among the high school players being recruited by the Chippewas are Eric Evans of Detroit Northwestern and Adrian Hunter of Grand Blanc (Mich.) High School.
