Michigan Point Guard Commits to CMU

The Central Michigan University men's basketball program received some more great news today in the form of its third verbal commitment for the 2008 recruiting class.

Chippewas Insider has learned that point guard Adrian Hunter (5-11, 185) of Grand Blanc (Mich.) High School has verbally committed to Central Michigan University for the class of 2008.

Hunter played for both the Michigan Roadrunners and Michigan Select this past AAU season. Last year as a junior he averaged 19.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 3.8 steals per game for Grand Blanc.

Hunter was named to the 2007 Michigan Class A (big school) All-State team (honorable mention).

He becomes the third verbal commitment in the Chippewas 2008 recruiting class, joining Zach Saylor of Lansing (Mich.) Waverly High School and Lawrence Bridges of Detroit Henry Ford.

CMU still has one scholarship remaining for next year's class, but could award it to current junior walk-on Jon Yeazel.

Yeazel originally signed with CMU out of Middleville (Mich.) Thornapple Kellogg High School and played for the Chippewas as a freshman in 2005 before spending last year at Schoolcraft (Mich.) Community College. Yeazel was a teammate there last season with 2007 CMU recruit Nate Minnoy.
