Chippewas Insider has learned that defensive lineman Steve Winston (6-3, 240) of Muskegon Heights (Mich.) High School verbally committed to Central Michigan Monday night.
Considered one of the top pass rushers in the state of Michigan's 2008 class, Winston also reported offers and interest from Ball State, Eastern Michigan, Michigan and Michigan State, among other schools.
He becomes the sixth Michigan prep player and 11th overall verbal commitment in CMU's 2008 recruiting class. Winston could play defensive end or tackle for the Chippewas.
