Michigan Standout Commits to CMU

The Central Michigan University football program received some great news last night in the form of a verbal commitment from one of the top prep players in the state of Michigan.

Chippewas Insider has learned that defensive lineman Steve Winston (6-3, 240) of Muskegon Heights (Mich.) High School verbally committed to Central Michigan Monday night.

Considered one of the top pass rushers in the state of Michigan's 2008 class, Winston also reported offers and interest from Ball State, Eastern Michigan, Michigan and Michigan State, among other schools.

He becomes the sixth Michigan prep player and 11th overall verbal commitment in CMU's 2008 recruiting class. Winston could play defensive end or tackle for the Chippewas.
