Chippewas Top Wolverines, Win Fourth Straight

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Giordan Watson tied a season high with 22 points to lead three Chippewas in double-figures as the Central Michigan University men's basketball team won its fourth straight, posting a 78-67 win over the University of Michigan on Saturday.

Giordan Watson shot 7-of-11 from the field and 6-of-6 from the free throw line to pace the CMU attack. Jeremy Allen and Nate Minnoy each added 11 points.

Central Michigan (4-5) shot 50.9 percent (28-for-55) while U-M hit 49.1 percent (27-for-55). The Chippewas led by as many as 16 in the second half and got 36 points from its bench, compared to just 13 for the Wolverines. The Chippewas were also 16-for-18 from the free throw line.

The Chippewas will try to stretch their winning streak to five on Wednesday, when they travel to face Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
